Digital Marketing for Small Businesses: Where to Start in 2026

By BEEHIVE Team · Sep 15, 2026 · 5 min read

Digital marketing advice usually arrives as a long list of channels you "must" be on. For a small business with limited time and budget, the better question is: which few things will bring in real enquiries?

1. Be easy to find locally

A complete, accurate Google Business profile with real photos, opening hours and reviews is the highest-return step for most local businesses. People searching nearby are already close to buying.

2. Give visitors one clear place to land

Sending ad clicks to a home page full of options wastes money. A focused landing page with one offer, proof that it works and a single obvious action (call, WhatsApp or form) converts far better.

3. Start paid ads small and specific

A modest budget on one clear offer and one audience teaches you more than a large budget spread thin. Run it, learn what people respond to and only then increase spend.

4. Follow up fast

Most enquiries are lost not because the interest was low but because the reply was slow. Quick, friendly follow-up on WhatsApp or phone turns interested people into customers.

5. Track cost per enquiry, not impressions

Impressions and likes are easy to collect and easy to misread. Track how many enquiries you received, what each one cost and how many became customers. Review it once a month and adjust.
